David, 46 — chronic lower back pain
Long hours at a desk, progressively worse mornings, avoiding picking up his kids. Clinical exam showed weak glutes, a locked hip flexor on the right, and stiff lumbar segments.

Back pain, neck pain, sciatica, headaches and sports injuries — treated by experienced, registered osteopaths in Kings Heath and Kings Norton. No GP referral needed.
Pain shows up differently depending on how you live. Find yourself below and see how we'd approach it.
Office, hybrid, or laptop-on-the-kitchen-table. Tight shoulders, stiff neck, that ache between the shoulder blades. The modern epidemic — and very fixable.
Knees, IT band, shin splints, hamstrings that won't loosen. We look past where it hurts to find out why — usually in the hip, foot, or training load.
Lifted something heavy, tweaked something small, now everything is angry. We get you back to training — and usually teach you why it happened.
Pain that has been around for months, years, or as long as you can remember. Honest, patient, methodical work. No promises — just a proper plan.
Lifting, carrying, feeding at all hours — the body takes a beating. We treat the strain and help you move without adding to the tiredness.
Still cycling, walking, gardening, playing — but the body has its moments. We help you stay mobile, independent, and doing what you love for longer.
Hover or tap a region on the figure. The body is connected — what aches in the shoulder often starts in the neck, what hurts in the knee frequently traces back to the hip. Start by telling us where it hurts today.
The most common reason people see us. Lower back pain rarely lives alone — it usually travels with tight hips, a weak core, or a habit your body has quietly compensated for. We trace it back to the root.
Book for thisOsteopathy is a whole-body discipline. We assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of musculoskeletal issues — from sports strains to the aches of sitting at a desk for too long.
Lumbar strain, disc issues, and the postural toll of modern life. Our most commonly treated complaint — often linked to tight hips and a weak core.
Sharp, shooting pain down the leg, sometimes with pins and needles. We work out whether it's a disc, a piriformis issue, or something else entirely.
Stiffness, whiplash, desk-related tension.
Tension-type and some migraines linked to cervical strain.
Frozen shoulder, rotator cuff strain, impingement. Often starts in the neck or upper back — we assess the whole chain.
Strains, sprains, overuse injuries, tendinopathies. We treat the injury and the pattern that caused it — so you get back sooner and stay back longer.
Arthritis, bursitis, runner's knee, IT band syndrome, patellar tracking. The hip and knee are always part of the same conversation — we treat them as such.
Plantar fasciitis, sprains, recovery.
Carpal tunnel, tennis elbow, typing strain.
Never seen an osteopath before? Here is the visit from start to finish. No mystery, no surprises, no white-coat gimmicks. Just a careful, methodical approach.
Four patients, four different problems, four different paths. Details anonymised. These are typical outcomes — not exceptional ones.
Long hours at a desk, progressively worse mornings, avoiding picking up his kids. Clinical exam showed weak glutes, a locked hip flexor on the right, and stiff lumbar segments.
Radiating leg pain, pins and needles in the calf, sleep badly affected. Previous physio had helped for a few weeks at a time. Targeted work on the piriformis, lumbar mobility and a specific nerve glide routine.
Sharp anterior knee pain at 5km, worsening with distance. Assessment found poor hip stability and over-pronation on the left. Treatment combined hands-on work with a targeted glute-strength programme.
Daily tension headaches, tight upper traps, forward head posture. Two sessions of hands-on treatment combined with a desk-setup overhaul and a daily three-minute routine.

The questions we hear most often. If yours isn't here, give us a ring on 07792 741360 — we're happy to chat before you commit to an appointment.
Treatment is generally comfortable. Some techniques — particularly deep soft-tissue work — can feel firm, and you may feel mild soreness afterwards for 24 to 48 hours (similar to post-exercise).
You are always in control. We explain what we're doing as we go, check in regularly, and nothing is ever forced. If something doesn't feel right, we simply stop and try a different approach.
No referral needed. Osteopaths are recognised primary healthcare professionals — you can book directly with us without seeing your GP first.
If we spot something during your assessment that falls outside our scope, we'll refer you on to the appropriate specialist. We work closely with local GPs and consultants where needed.
Most patients see significant improvement within 2 to 4 sessions. Simpler acute issues (a recently tweaked back, for example) often resolve in 1–3. Longer-standing or more complex presentations can take 6–8.
We give you an honest estimate at your first visit and review progress at each appointment. No padding, no upselling, no ten-session packages you didn't ask for.
Yes — most major UK private health plans cover osteopathy, including Bupa, AXA Health, Vitality, Aviva, WPA, Simply Health and Healthshield.
We can provide detailed invoices with practitioner registration numbers, diagnostic codes and session details for your claim. We recommend checking your specific policy for session limits and reimbursement rates before your first visit.
Loose, comfortable clothing — shorts and a t-shirt work well. Leggings or joggers are fine. You do not need to undress beyond your comfort level.
If you're coming from work, we have a space where you can change. Socks are fine to leave on.
Yes — osteopathy is a regulated, evidence-based healthcare profession. All our osteopaths are registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC), which means we meet strict national standards for training, insurance, ethics and continuing professional development.
Osteopathy is also listed as an Allied Health Profession and is accepted within NHS care pathways. Before treatment we take a thorough case history and screen for anything that would need onward referral.
Many patients notice a difference after their first session — sometimes immediately, sometimes the next morning. For acute issues, change can be rapid. For long-standing pain, expect a more gradual arc.
It's not unusual to feel slightly sore for a day or two after treatment — this is normal and usually settles quickly as the body adjusts.
Recurrence is normal for many conditions, especially when lifestyle factors are involved. Part of what we do is give you the tools — exercises, postural advice, movement habits — to reduce the chance of it happening again.
Many patients book in for an occasional "service" session every few months once they've recovered. No pressure to do so; always your call.
No GP referral needed. We provide detailed invoices for claim submission with registration numbers, diagnostic notes and session records.
What you see is what you pay. No joining fees, no membership tier, no pressure to book ten sessions you don't need. Claimable on most private health insurance.
Enough time to understand you properly — not a rushed ten-minute consult.
Most patients need two to four follow-ups. Then you're away.
Partnering with two of the city's well-regarded integrated health centres. Pick whichever is easier for you — we work across both, and many patients use both depending on which week they need us.
Most patients notice a change after their first visit. Book online — or call us directly if you'd rather speak to someone. We respond the same day.
